high gloss shoe cabinet

new high gloss black with cream interior shoe cabinet . for up to 50 pairs of shoes with drawers below for bags etc . this was a long project - client first contacted me feb 2009 , lots of tooing and froing till we settled on this design . the design is not gonna set the world on fire but the finish on the piece is great . imust admit to struggling to get the right finish and i ended up stripping it completely 3 times - what a dose . it was the last coat each time that went awry . then polisheing and compound etc., its labour intensive and perhaps i wasnt concentrating enough during the process coz it took ages and it shouldnt have . anyway im happy with it now - its not delivered yet though so fingers crossed . the handles are custom  made stainless steel 100mm radius 3mm thick , i got 10 of em so ill be usin g them again .

solid top made from american walnut . this particular batch was very obediant. lovely matched veneered doos make the unit . a success.
